Sensei Patrick Pelter, 2nd Dan, JKA England Qualified Junior Instructor.
Sensei Shahinaz Pelter, 3rd Dan, is the first JKA England lady Chief Instructor to obtain the prestigious JKA Karate International Qualifications in both instructing & refereeing.
Sensei Shahinaz Pelter is a former diplomat who took up karate after her son Patrick (now 2nd Dan) & the club Junior Instructor took an interest in karate.
Sensei Shahinaz (3rd Dan) is a dedicated karate-ka and a an International Qualified Instructor. She trains regularly with JKA Top Instructors including Sensei Ohta, 7th Dan, JKAE Chief Instructor. She is described by her colleagues as “ a very popular and a natural teacher of all aspects of karate – do”.
After hard training and dedication Sensei Shahinaz and Sensei Patrick obtained their 1st Dan at the prestigious International JKAE Spring Course at Crawley. The very difficult Dan grading was conducted by Sensei Osaka (8th dan), Sensei Ohta (7th Dan) & Sensei Larsen (7th Dan) .
In 2013, Sensei Shahinaz passed both JKAE Instructor and Referee Level 3.
In 2014, she obtained her 2nd Dan at the prestigious International JKAE Autumn Course at Crawley. The Dan grading was conducted by Sensei Sawada (7th dan), Sensei Shiina (7th Dan) and Sensei Ohta (7th Dan).
In 2015, Sensei Shahinaz passed both JKAE Instructor and Referee Level 2.
In 2016, at the age of 14, Sensei Patrick obtained his 2nd Dan.
In 2017, Sensei Shahinaz obtained the prestigious JKA D International Instructor Qualification in the European Gasshuku in Brussels. The exam was conducted by The JKA Chief Instructor Sensei Ueki (9th dan) from the JKA headquarters in Tokyo.
In December 2018, Sensei Shahinaz obtained her 3rd Dan at The Winter International Course at Crawley. The Dan grading was conducted by Sensei Imamura (8th Dan), Sensei Hanzaki (7th Dan) and Sensei Ohta ( 7th Dan) .
In May 2019, Sensei Shahinaz obtained the prestigious JKA D International Referee Qualification in The Spring International Course at Crawley. The exam was conducted by Sensei Ogura (8th Dan) and Sensei Ohta (7th Daan).
In November 2019, Sensei Shahinaz obtained the prestigious JKA D International Examiner Qualification in the European Gasshuku in Brussels. The exam was conducted by The JKA Chief Instructor Sensei Ueki (9th dan) from the JKA headquarters in Tokyo.
In May 2022, Sensei Shahinaz obtained the prestigious JKA C International Referee Qualification as well as JKA C International Instructor Qualification in The Spring International Course at Crawley. Both exams were conducted by Sensei Imamura (8th Dan), Sensei Shimizu (7th Dan) ,from the JKA headquarters in Tokyo. Sensei Sawada (7th dan) from JKA Europe, and Sensei Ohta ( 7th Dan), JKA England Chief Instructor.
Sensei Shahinaz and Sensei Patrick regularly attend all JKA England National and International courses. In February 2012, they were both awarded JKA England a special attendance Certificate from Sensei Ohta.
In January 2010, Sensei Shahinaz went to Japan to attend the Kan Geiko (Winter Training) course at the JKA headquarter in Tokyo.
Sensei Shahinaz and Sensei Patrick have both taken part in many JKAE interclub and nationals karate competitions at which they have won gold, silver and bronze medals.
Sensei Shahinaz participates regularly as a Referee, in JKA England National and Open Championships competitions.
In 2015, Sensei Shahinaz Pelter received from Sensei Ohta, JKA England Chief Instructor, the JKA England Club of the Year Certificate.
In 2016, Sensei Shahinaz received the JKA England Award in recognition of Bromley & South East London JKA Karate Club great contribution to the association.
In 2018, Sensei Ohta and the JKA England Technical Committee awarded Sensei Shahinaz & Bromley & South East London JKA Karate Club another prestigious award in recognition of the club’s continious success and achievements.
