During the COVID 19 lockdown and in order to help members of Bromley & South East London JKA Karate Club to stay positive, concentrate on something that they like to do, stay fit and not to feel isolated, we offered to all our members regular Free of Charge Zoom Karate classes.
We were very pleased that many of our dedicated members, from white belt to black belt, have joined and trained regularly with us during the last four months.
It was a very pleasant surprise when our wonderful Japan Karate Association of England has decided to award all members , who trained online regularly during the lockdown to be given the great opportunity to grade if the Club Chief Instructor is confident that they are ready to do so.
Sensei Shahinaz decided to hold Bromley & South East London JKA Karate Club’s Summer Grading on Thursday 30th July 2020 in an outdoor venue and in accordance with the government recommended guidelines.
It was complicated to organise but the grading went very well and was very successful!
Many thanks to Sensei Patrick for making sure that the grading run smoothly and to the examiner Sensei Martin, particularly as the grading session was very long to make sure that all the government recommended guidelines are followed. A Huge Thank you to all our members who attended the grading and their families for respecting the social distancing and all the rules .
We also would like to say thank you to our members who usualy train at our dojo in Upper Norwood for making the effort to come to grade at Petts Wood!
The grading was very successful and all our members, from white belt beginners to Brown belt 2nd Kyu, who graded on Thursday 30th July 2020 have performed at a high karate standard.

Classes at he Dojo will resume in September!
We look forward to seeing all our members who trained regularly with us during the lockdown period as well as our members who could not train via Zoom!
We are also hoping to welcome new future members who will be interested in joining our karate family and learn Shotokan Karate & self defence in a friendly & safe environment!
