Our club is known for its high karate standard and it’s fantastic and friendly atmosphere.
However, it is important to reiterate and set out the following club rules to all current members/ members ‘ parents:
* Regular and consistant attendance is a must.
* Bow when entering and leaving the dojo (training venue) facing the dojo.
* A good attitude, a good & cooperative spirit are a must.
* Bring your karate mitts to every session. Purple belts and above bring your gum shields with your karate mitts.
* No jewelleries to be worn during training.
* Fingers and Toes nails must be regularly trimmed and kept very short.
* Bring your water bottle to every session
* Check that you collected your water bottle, karate mitts and all your belongings before you leave the dojo.
* The monthly fees have to be paid in full at the first session of each month, regardless of how many lessons the member misses.
* Any member who needs to take a karate break or to stop , discontinue, training has, / or their parents ( for juniors), must provide a two months’ notice. by texting me to let me know two months in advance. During the two months period notice, the member may continue attending classes if he / she wishes to do so, but in all cases the fees must be paid in full for the two months that follow the text notification, whether the member attends or not. No exception will be made!
* The JKAE membership/ karate licence has to be kept up to date at all time even if the member is taking a karate break for exams etc..
*It is the responsibility of each member / parents of junior members to make sure that the licence is up to date by checking the status of the karate licence on the membership page on the JKAE website. The association usually send a renewal reminder email . However, whether you receive this email or not it is your responsibility to check it and make sure it is up to date.
* Regarding the club’s Kyu Grading Exams, members who attend regularly the training sessions and able to perform their basics , Kata and Kumite at a good standard will be allowed to grade providing their membership / licence are up to date.
* Black belts grading takes place in National & International Courses in England. First kyu members are eligible to try if they are training regularly, attended a fewJKA England National & International courses, able to perform at a good standard: their basics, all the Heian Katas, Tekki Shodan and Bassai- dai and the semi free and free sparing, First Kyu member has to pass the pre black belt grading assesment with 60% that has to be done a few weeks before I give permission to the member to apply to grade and fulfilled all the conditions set out by the JKA England.
* Members from (9th Kyu (Orange Belt) and above are encouraged to participate in Regional, National and Open Championships providing they are able to perform the required Katas and Kumite at a good standard, and they wish to do so. Licence /membership has to be up to date.
* The Club rules apply to all members of Bromley & South East London JKA Karate Club.
* All members must comply with all the aforementioned rules.
* Being a member in Bromley & South East Lobdon JKA Karate Club implies that you accept and abide by the aforementioned club rules.
